Imagine Trent Reznor arm wrestling James Hetfield, with Rob Zombie as referee….now you’ve got a good idea of the Edges of Seven sound. Simply put, a fusion of heavy rock and electronic influences plus one important element: “originality”. Eo7 began in 2000 as the one man endeavor of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Robert Takacs. Writing and recording a number of songs, designing various incarnations of the Eo7 website, and basically promoting Eo7 via the internet, got things started. In 2003, Robert was joined by former Frontline Assembly & Unit 187 drummer Jason Hagan, keyboardist/programmer Corey Hunt, guitarist Mark Santacattarina, and bassist Ryan Smith, to bring Eo7 from a solo project, to a full band. With airplay on Vancouver’s CFOX, plus numerous shows in and around Vancouver, the band started to create a buzz. In 2006, Eo7 entered the studio to record their debut CD “Born Again Hard”, which was released in 2007. Sadly, Eo7 suffered a tremendous loss when bassist Ryan Smith passed away on August 2nd, 2006 at the age of 28, “Born Again Hard” is dedicated to Ryan’s memory. In April of 2007, Eo7 was recharged and had the fire lit again with the addition of 2 new members: Guitarist Carmello Bruzzeze, and bassist Steve Booth. Shortly after, yet another huge opportunity presented itself when the band joined forces with former Korn manager Will “Willobee” Carlan. Several shows around Vancouver, including opening slots for Helmet (with James “Munky” Schaffer in attendance) and Econoline Crush followed. The band is currently writing and rehearsing for upcoming shows and a possible tour.
